If Life of a Suburban Unicorn was a short story, I’d put it away for a few years and not look at it until I couldn’t even remember writing it.
I’m so freaking bored of this manuscript, and I don’t want to write on it anymore. I’ve made it all the way to chapter five in my edits, and I want to throw up every time I look at the endless see of rough words ahead of me. It’s not that I don’t love my manuscript. I do. It’s not that I don’t love writing. I do. But for the past three days all I’ve done is write and work at the real job. I don’t want to do it anymore. I want something new, something fresh, something entertaining.
Someone rescue me from this world I’ve trapped myself in. x.x

I wish icould rescue you. I don’t remember feeling really bad about doing revisions. But I did take time off between because I had to do other things in my life then. Akways when I came back to my MS, it seemed better than I remembered, which encouraged me. Maybe you would do well to satisfy that creative urge to write something new and fresh. The time off your MS and the short story or whatever you create, may be just what you need to refuel your energy for enjoying the revisions on your MS.

What Carol Ann said. Take a little bit to reread the manuscript, and then put it down until tomorrow. Don’t write anything down. Don’t even really think about it beyond just reading it for the sake of reading it. Then once you put it down, get out of the domicile. Go for a drive to get an ice cream. Go see a horror movie. Go do something totally unrelated to writing your manuscript. Heck, you might just want to take some benedryl or something and sleep the day away. Just leave things to your subconscious for a day, and then tomorrow try getting back into the groove.
As Jack Torrance write (several thousand times): “All work and no play makes Jack a dully boy.” 😉

Ouch! Don’t twist my arm. Ice cream and a movie. What a painful solution. ^^

Definitely sounds like you need some space!
